A micro-method has been devised for determining the density (or porosity) of calcified tissues by directly measuring the volume of blocks prepared by a micro-jigsaw. The relative precision is 1.3 per cent for 1 cu. mm. samples. A table of average values for the densities of various normal and carious zones of human dentin is included.
