THE CHEMISTRY AND STAINING REACTIONS OF KERATIN

1. A brief description of the chemistry of keratin is given.

2. It is shown that Mallory's connective-tissue stain is specific for the epidermal layer of the skin, indicating an important relationship between this stain and epidermal keratin.
